The suitcase has been stowed in the attic until next summer and the golden glow has been restored. After touching down to a grey and rainy Manchester airport, it confirmed my fears that perhaps the sun would be short lived.
However, I didn't fail to pick up some essential reading material as soon as I got back...
The September Issue of Vogue, not quite the 5lb, bible-like issue in 2007, but still packed full of the latest trends straight from the designers for AW13. Starring Diana Werbowy as the cover girl and feauturing a fun spread of 'when Cara (Delevigne) met Pharell (Williams)'. In fact it's hard to miss supermodel and all round it-girl Cara Delevigne in this issue of Vogue, she has campaigns for Fendi, DKNY, Burberry and Mulberry that all feature in the magazine and with whispers of her landing her first lead role in British film 'Kids in Love', she is certainly making the most of the hype.
I was also excited to pick up this week's edition of NME magazine
The boys scrubbed up for this weeks cover of NME to promote their upcoming 5th album entitled 'AM', in the 6 page interview, 'Inside the AMerican Dream' Arctic Monkeys spoke to Mat Wilkinson on recording the album and the meaning behind songs such as 'Mad Sounds' and 'Knee socks', the Sheffield born quartet talk of working with Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) like they did on their third album 'Humbug' which was said to divide fans because of its contrast to the original raw Sheffield teenage-angst sound. Either way, the eagerly anticipated album is out on the 9th of September followed by a UK tour starting in Newcastle on 22nd of October.
Listen to one of the songs from their upcoming album 'Do I Wanna Know?' here
