Angela & Roi: Handbags With A Purpose

A unique brand with a heart warming yet vital ethos, combining fashion and philanthropy, Angela & Roi should certainly not be overlooked as 'just another handbag' this christmas. Their minimalist yet chic selection of  backpacks, totes, shoulder, and cross-body bags are vintage inspired with a contemporary and current twist. However, I feel that most importantly their handbags are more than just a container in which you throw your phone, purse and lipstick in but they hold a very important message. Angela & Roi's handbags are arranged in an unconventional 'donate by colour' system. This simple, yet highly effective and intriguing way of allowing a follower of fashion to do more than purchase a handbag, but donate to a worthy cause at the same time is truly refreshing. Angela & Roi are passionate about moving forward and their strong, easily recognizable colours help to raise awareness of different medical issues. Below are my favorite bags from each of their colour collections...

Red - HIV/AIDS

Harrington Jackets were first mad popular when Elvis Presley wore the Baracuta G9 (the same model as all the Harrington Jackets shown above) in his 1958 film 'King Creole'. However they became popular in the UK among skinheads and mods in the 60's, also in the late 70's and early 80's with the mod revival.

In music, Irish band Two Door Cinema Club released a new song on BBC Radio 1 last night entitled 'Changing Of Seasons' was produced by French teenager Madeon and is part of a three song EP to be released on the 30th of September. Listen to the track below.

On the music side of things, LA band Haim have release a video for their new Single 'The Wire'. The video sees the 3 sisters break the hearts of some comically pathetic men. The track is from the band's debut album, 'Days Are Gone' due to be released on the 30th of September. Watch the video below

This Is England

After looking at my past few posts I have come to some kind of realisation that I am somewhat of a Topshop addict. My addiction has been fueled this week by a new collection called 'This is England', the inspiration being the 2006 film of the same name directed by Shane Meadows and starring Stephen Graham and Joe Gilgun, the film depicts the life of young skinheads in Manchester in 1983.
The Topshop collection focuses on creating boyish silhouettes to give a gritty, vintage look. Below are my favorites from the collection.

In music news, In an Interview with Rolling Stone magazine Jake Bugg confessed that his 2nd studio album is nearly finished and may be released before the end of this year. The 19 year old Nottingham boy told the American magazine that he has nearly finished recording the album with Rick ~Rubin in Shangri -la Studios Malibu.

Jake Bugg's self titled debut album was released in October 2012, and reached number one in the UK  charts, earlier this year he was nominated for 'Best British Breakthrough Act' at the BRIT awards.
